Tips on how to use your Hewlett Packard Calculator.

  1. While I was using my HP 39GS graphing calculator, the calculator froze suddenly, then it turned off. When I tried to turn on the calculator again, I realised that the aplet program was not working, and it won't even do normal calculating. So I'm just wondering what I can do to fix it?

The likely problem with your calculator is that a part of memory is corrupt. Resetting the calculator should fix the problem.
To reset the HP 39g+/gs calculator, try the following:
Note: Resetting with this procedure will clear all calculator memory !
    1. Remove all batteries (including backup battery)
    2. Use a metal paperclip to short the AAA battery compartment
    *       Make the paperclip act as a wire that joins/touches -
    *       For the 39g+ :the top right battery contact and the bottom-left
battery contact at the same time for a few seconds
    *       For the 39gs :the top right battery contact and the bottom-right
battery contact at the same time for a few second
    *       Remove paper clip
    3. Press [ON] a few times
    4. Install fresh set of AAA batteries
    5. Turn calculator ON

If the calculator fails to turn on
    1. Insert paperclip into reset hole on back of calculator.
You may need to try the above procedures a couple of times.

    1. Turn calculator on
    2. Press and hold [ON]
    3. Press and hold top left blue key
